Lisa Schwartz (born April 4) more commonly known by her pseudonym Lisbug, is an American entertainer, actor, comedian and YouTube personality. Schwartz is known for making comedic broadcasts featuring fashion and advice vlogs, video diaries, interactive videos, spoofs of popular music videos, mini-webisodes of "Aunt Sophie's Lova-Line," hosting weekly "Superscriber Saturday" that answer questions by fans, as well as "Dare Wednesday" with fellow Youtube personality, Shane Dawson[1] . Schwartz is also known for starring in videos by The Fine Brothers[2].
YouTube videos
[edit]Schwartz's career began in 2010 when she had grown tired of waiting for work within the film industry and being left with no result when auditioning for film/TV positions. She decided to take action by writing scripts of her own, as well as self-producing, editing and staring in her own films, shot in her home. Over the course of two years, Schwartz has accumulated over 202,000 Youtube subscribers, over 35,000 Twitter followers[3] , as well as over 14,000,000 video views on Youtube. Outside Youtube, Schwartz also works as a teacher.[4] Schwartz is currently working on a pilot and continuing to audition for shows. Schwartz' youtube channel consists of mostly sketch comedy and parodies, but also offers advice columns, Q&A vlogs, as well as fashion and makeup tutorials. Much of her focus on her webpage is on "Aunt Sophie's Lova-Line"[5] and "Dare Wednesdays".[6] Dare Wednesdays are weekly broadcasts that are in response to dares made by fans, following with answers to questions asked via Twitter, Facebook, or youtube. Aunt Sophie is a parody based on women's talk shows with wry wit responses to relationship problems.
Outside her own production, Schwartz has also been featured in many videos of fellow Youtubers: Shane Dawson, The Fine Brothers, and BREEessrig.
Fashion Blog
[edit]Schwartz has taken the time to dedicate a fashion blog on Tumblr to keep up with fans and reach a wider audience by writing reviews on different stores, as well as assembling outfits for each season. Her blog gives advice on hairstyles, nail polish, shoes, and makeup as well. [7]
Personal life
[edit]Born and raised in Tarzana, California, Schwartz attended Buckley High School. Schwartz has revealed in a video, that as a child she was bullied, and sought consultation by joining her school's theater and dance programs.[8][9]
She later went on to further her education to earn a B.A. in theater arts from University of California, Irvine.[10] Schwartz currently resides in Los Angeles, California, focusing on her career and auditioning for television and movie roles. Before beginning her career as a Youtube actress, Schwartz stated to have worked as a "birthday party princess," entertaining children on weekends. Becoming tired of working paycheck to paycheck, she finally auditioned for The Fine Brothers, who introduced her to Youtube.[11]
In February of 2012, Schwartz announced that she was in a relationship with fellow Youtuber, Shane Dawson. Dawson and Schwartz met on the set for a Fine Brother's production. During a Question and Answer vlog, they revealed their first impressions of each other for their fans, Schwartz found Dawson to be funny, while Dawson admitted to being intimidated. [12] On their first date, they went to dinner during Christmas time at Candycane Lane, looking at Christmas lights. [13] [14]. Earlier in Schwartz' Youtube career, she had vlogged about her first kiss with Dawson during one of The Fine Brother's production.[15]
Although they are no longer together, she is close to both parents and their significant others. She also has an older brother named Adam.[16] She is Jewish and celebrates Passover with her family. [17] According to her Superscriber Saturday vlog, Schwartz didn't have her first boyfriend until her college years.[18]
Schwartz is a vegetarian and loves chips and salsa.[19] She also enjoys gluten free bakeries, as well as Reese's pieces peanut buttercups and cookies 'n' cream Hershey bars. [20]
