[edit]Maybe you wanted some statistics or awards, but you're getting something of a composite of I'm sure many Wikipedia:Essays. So, recently I was browsing Wikipedia:Free_English_newspaper_sources, and randomly clicked to find the first archived Muncie Post-Democrat, titled, Muncie, Delaware County, 25 March 1921,[1] and found themselves saying the reasons to become a subscriber were (a) to be benefitted from wholesome truths (b) to combat the cuss-worthy state of affairs when there was no Loraxian voice to combat republican misrepresentations.[2] In today's society, we falsely dismiss the polemical time of the pamphleteers as "backwards", or put another way, evil. In reality, if Wikipedia were around back in that time, which essentially it aims to be anyway, because it operates "behind the curve", it would have like finding a diamond in the rough, found value in their contributions and found places for entire ideological factions. Ask how an archeologist views recorded history.
