Lake County (IL) Housing Authority

The Lake County Housing Authority (LCHA) is one of three public housing/housing choice voucher agencies in Lake County, Illinois. With the central office in Grayslake, IL and properties all throughout the county, LCHA is working to change the face of public housing.Cite error: The <ref> tag name cannot be a simple integer (see the help page). As one of the leading housing authorities in Illinois, the agency provides housing and housing related services for over 11,000 citizens of Lake County.^[1]

As with all such agencies, LCHA strives to ensure its clientele safe, decent and sanitary housing. LCHA plasy a strong role in maintaining the health of its surrounding community through the offer of additional programs with the goal of building strong public and private partnerships, maintaining a high standard of property maintenance, and helping low-income families move toward economic self-sufficiency.^[1]

The Lake County Housing Authority consistently receives High Rank standing from HUD for its Housing Choice Voucher program.^[1] The Housing Authority has also been nationally recognized by the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) for numerous innovative programs in both housing and community development.^[1]
