Lina Cruz is a Colombian-born, Canadian choreographer,
Lina Cruz was born in Cartagena, Colombia, on May 21, 1957. She lived in Madrid, Spain, as of the age of 16, where she began training as a professional dancer. She came to Montreal in 1989, where she is dedicated to developing works in contemporary dance. Her works have received Dora Mavor Moore awards and nominations in various categories.
Most of her works have premiered at Tangente and Agora de la danse, in Montreal, and toured thereafter.
