Lethal Operation (Also known as Fatal Circumcision, formerly named Death Valley Blizzard) is an American thrash metal band formed in 2022 under the name of Death Valley Blizzard. Lethal Operation is often credited with kickstarting a thrash metal renaissance in and around its birthplace of Bucks County outside Philadelphia.

History

Early career (2022)

Death Valley Blizzard was founded in the summer of 2022 by Cooper Fehrle, Yannick Ramanujam, Kyle Meyers, Stanley Kaufman, and Jake Nicholson.^[1] The group disbanded shortly after its creation, citing aggressive behaviors by its lead singer as the reason for the split.^[1]

2023–present

Lethal Operation regrouped under its current name in late 2023 with the purpose of performing at its local high school’s talent show.^[1] The band has since undergone numerous lineup changes, but has remained an active member of the suburban Philadelphia music scene and continues to perform annually at the very same talent show.^[2]

Artistry

Musical style and influences

Despite having released few songs on major platforms, Lethal Operation has a large discography, much of which is slated to be released on its debut EP.^[2]

The band is notable for its unique songwriting approach to originals and covers alike, which is often described as a fusion of the raw energy of thrash metal with the complex intricacies of Baroque and classical music. Lethal Operation’s main influences include bands such as Slayer, Megadeth, and Napalm Death, as well as classical composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Pachelbel.
