Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia that anyone can edit. It's designed like that so that many different people can help build this information resource. Each of these people will have their own interests, talents, and opinions. Wikipedia welcomes them all, of all ages, races, shapes and sizes. We are a community, which is just as important for building this place as focus - if not more so.

Yet, for this community, and indeed the project to function well, all editors must follow one very important guideline; the most important unofficial guideline there is, really. This, if nothing else, is the key to success on Wikipedia.

Are you ready?

Above everything else, the most important thing to do on Wikipedia is simply to have fun. I know it is cliche, but honestly, why would you want to do something you don't enjoy doing? Go edit some articles you're into, or revert vandals who like to mess up the site, or tag pages for speedy deletion, or anything. Wikipedia's full of opportunities for a fun time; don't waste a single one of them trying to do something you don't want to do. It will make your experience here suck, and nobody wants that.

Remember, your experience on Wikipedia is entirely what you make it to be. So make it a good one! :)
