Biography

[edit]

Early Life

[edit]

Founded in November 2007 by four university graduates; Francesca Adjei, Isabella Obaseki, Yinka Ikuemelo and Doris Betek embarked on a career in event management and PR.

Before Chiq Consultants, the four started off by planning university events with nine other friends whilst studying at the University of Bedfordshire. They set up a promotions team called UMANZ Productions, which proved popular amongst students. After graduating from university with BA honours, the four entrepreneurs decided working within the corporate world was not a road they wished to follow. After turning down several job opportunities with attractive benefits and wages, the team decided to do something that motivated them. As the entertainment industry and events management was a passion they all shared, they decided to embark on a business venture - Chiq Consultants.

The four co-founders made an agreement to make a mark on the entertainment industry. Chiq Consultants’ motto “constantly craving uniqueness” strived to bring creativity to event management. Equipped with fresh ideas but little knowledge of the industry, the founders decided to learn more about the entertainment business. In 2007 Chiq Consultants attended Kulture2Couture, where they met up with Damon Dash who gave the company valuable business ideas.
