b. ^ K-9 Adventures, a children's series starring K-9, has been announced, but it is not clear whether it will be part of the Doctor Who canon, as it is not being produced by the BBC.

c. ^ Various plans for more Serenity or Firefly on television or film have been rumored, but nothing has yet been confirmed.

d. ^ A remake of the film has been announced for 2007.

e. ^ A new Star Trek film, to be written and directed by J. J. Abrams, has been announced, but has not yet entered production.
