CitrusAd is an Australian-based company founded by former Australian Football League player Brad Moran whose Software as a service auction-based advertising platform enables large retailers to monetise brand placement on their e-commerce websites in the same way as selling “eye-line” shelf space does in-store. CitrusAd clients include large Australian retailers such as Woolworths, Coles, Dan Murphy’s and The Iconic and international retailers including Unilever, Sainsbury’s, Target and Tesco. In July 2021, CitrusAd was acquired by France-based Publicis Groupe. [1] [2]
CitrusAd has offices in Brisbane, St. Petersburg, Florida, Barcelona and St Neots in the United Kingdom.
Overview
[edit]Brisbane-based CitrusAd was founded in 2017 by Brad Moran (footballer) (chief executive officer) and Brad Paech (chief marketing officer). The pair, who had met at Moran’s first startup technology company NoQ, established CitrusAd to deliver technology that allows fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) retailers to monetise space on their websites in the same way as they did with shelf space in-store. The core of the CitrusAd Software-as-a-Service retail media platform is an automated back-end auction system that enables brands to bid for and buy advertising space on banner ads on the retailer’s website.
