Nehemiah Mabry, PhD, PE
[edit]Nehemiah Mabry is an American engineer, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) speaker, Educator, and Entrepreneur based in North Carolina. He is the founder and CEO of STEMedia, a digital media services company that specializes in production, content development and online learning for STEM fields; STEMedia was founded in 2012. Mabry is a regular guest speaker and presenter for several STEM edutainment channels including WIRED, the Smithsonian Channel, and for universities and organizations like the University of Texas at Austin's Charles A. Dana Center.
Biography
[edit]Dr. Nehemiah Mabry's research background is in nondestructive evaluation (NDE) and structural health monitoring (SHM). He has performed engineering work with NASA, North Carolina State University, and has conducted bridge design, inspection and analysis as an engineer with Simpson Engineers & Associates. Mabry earned his PhD in Structural Engineering & Mechanics from North Carolina State University in 2015, and his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL in 2011 and 2009.
In 2021 Mabry was selected to as a member of the inaugural Accelerating Black Leadership & Entrepreneurship (ABLE) accelerator program through the African Diaspora Network. ABLE was designed to strengthen, energize & support small businesses & nonprofits led by Black entrepreneurs in the US.
STEMedia was founded by Mabry in 2012 with the mission to elevate and inspire underrepresented technical & creative talent in STEM fields. STEMedia produces multimedia content to help schools, colleges and companies empower students and emerging STEM professionals. Additionally, Mabry and STEMedia are cofounders of the annual STEM Success Summit, a free virtual summit designed to equip and empower students and early career professionals to launch successful and meaningful careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
