Timothy Ricks is an American web designer, best known for his interactive websites and the so-called Webflow Wizardry. He was one of the first Youtubers to start teaching Webflow.
Education and Career
[edit]In 1967, Timothy graduated from the University of California, LA with BA in Psychology followed by MA in Architecture and Urban Planning in 1971-1973. Ten years later, he found his first job as a Project Manager for Northrop Grumman Corporation where he worked for 23 years (from 1983-2006).
In November, 2006 Timothy changed the area that we was working for – from aerospace to medical companies and started a new job as Project Manager at Pfizer where he worked until 2008. His duties were to lead a team to design and implement a number of Oracle Clinical development and integration projects with a total IT budget of $1.8 million in 2007 and $1.3 million in 2008. Some of the activities included: relocation of the production Oracle Clinical application and hardware from New Jersey to Connecticut, Development and implementation of Oracle Clinical / Remote Data Capture 4.5.3, Oracle Study Export / Import Utility customisation project.
From January 2009, Timothy decided to become a full-time design consultant and Youtuber. He is well-known for his technical abilities as a designer as his work included development of PHP applications as well. Nowadays, he is not only working as a consultant and a Youtuber but also in a design agency called ThreeSixtyEight.
Webflow Wizardry
[edit]The Webflow Wizardry is a technique invented by Timothy for Webflow. It consists of calculating responsive units (typography included) for the web, so that the website can be responsive and adapt to different screen sizes. Timothy has multiple Youtube videos on the technique and has even made a calculator which everyone can use to implement the technique.
jQuery Builder
[edit]Timothy created the jQuery Builder in order to help designers to adapt to no-code solutions. The jQuery Builder makes it easier for the users to create jQuery animations using triggers, target class, traverse and action. He created a whole series of Youtube videos about it called jQuery Builder Course.
