From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is, and for many years has been, overwhelming evidence that ITN is severely and indefensibly biased against the United States.

Note that by "discretionary", I am excluding nominations that are automatically deemed worthy of posting so long as the article's quality is sufficiently high, as required in Wikipedia:ITNQUALITY. Therefore, "discretionary" ITN nominations consist of those that are not listed on WP:ITNR and are not WP:ITNRD nominations. This is because anything listed on ITNR is automatically considered notable enough for posting, and any living person (or even animal or plant) that dies and is notable enough for an article on Wikipedia is considered worthy of posting in the "Recent Deaths" (RD) section of ITN.

Over and over again, events that are obviously notable enough for posting to ITN, and which would unhesitatingly be posted if they happened in any other country, especially if that country is not in the Western world, are shot down by unanimous or near-unanimous consensus solely because of the almost-impossible-to-meet double standard that is always applied to nominations from the US.
