Be bold in creating new articles, even if you aren't an expert on the topic. Sometimes mistakes can actually be beneficial (TODO: find that link to the discussion from like 2002/3 that Jimbo and others had). If you create an article with some incorrect information, the page will likely appear near the top of Google searches, people will come to read the content, be shocked the clearly wrong information, and be motivated to fix it and perhaps even contribute more content. On the other hand, if you hadn't been bold, the page would never have appeared in Google searches. In the first scenario, people only have to be motivated enough to fix one small problem that they're shocked by. In the second scenario, someone has to become motivated enough to create an entire article from scratch.
Caveats: Per WP:BLP, if doing this for living people, be much more careful, and cite reliable sources. And obviously, per WP:N, make sure the new articles are notable before being bold in creating them.
