André Agius
[edit]André Agius[1] is a Maltese director and theatre-maker, born in Victoria, Gozo in 1994. Recognised as “One to Watch” by The Stage, he is known for his bold, innovative & playful style that combines razor-sharp pacing, layered characters, and a distinctive use of visual agility and magic realism. He specialises in contemporary re-imaginings of classical texts that often explore moral dilemmas and human relationships, making them resonate with contemporary audiences.
Andre graduated with a Bachelors in Theatre Studies from the University of Malta, and a Masters in Theatre Directing at Edinburgh Napier University, where he was awarded for his outstanding achievements on the course.
André is former Theatre and Film[2] actor. On film, he's played main roles in CBS's The Dovekeepers, Sony Pictures Releasing's Paul, Apostle of Christ and Pan Européenne Production's Largo Winch; and featured roles in Lionsgate's The Devil's Double, Sky One & NBC's You, Me and the Apocalypse, Paramount Pictures Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and BBC's The Whale.
