Brief explanations for my votes in the July 2009 Checkuser and Oversight Elections follow. I continue to be quite annoyed at the decision to forbid comments alongside votes; it makes it harder to understand the voting results and understand why people are supporting and opposing. Whatever, though, onto my reasoning:
Bjweeks: Honestly don't really know him, so neutral.
Hersfold: I've found his judgment eminently trustworthy.
J.delanoy: Also excellent judgment well above what I expect for people of his age. Easy support.
Tiptoety: It's hard for me to place exactly why I'm uncomfortable supporting Tiptoety. I suspect it may have to do with a block of his a disagreed with. I hardly think it fair to oppose solely on one block that wasn't overturned, so I'm just staying netural.
VirtualSteve: I really don't know Steve very well except as a vandal-blocker and for one comment I disagreed with (far from grounds for a vote). Neutral.
Avraham: Seems to work fine with the 'crat tools, and I see no problems with his judgment.
Dweller: Seems trustworthy.
Happy-melon: Abstain due to lack of familiarity.
Hmwith: Abstain due to lack of familiarity.
Howcheng: Abstain due to lack of familiarity.
Jennavecia: Originally I opposed Lara, since I just didn't think she had quite the right temperament. I probably more or less still think so, but I've decided to strike my oppose in protest against the vindictive inquisition campaign being carried out against her by another admin. I doubt my strike will affect the results, anyway.
Keegan: Seems trustworthy and clue-having.
Mr.Z-man: Abstain due to lack of familiarity.
Nishkid64: Seems to do fine with the checkuser tool, which seems to me to be at least as dangerous as oversight, so I see no reason he can't be trusted with oversight.
SoWhy: Hard to place exactly why I question SoWhy. I think in the end it's going to come down to just going with my gut instinct, which is to oppose.
Stifle: This candidacy appears to be drowning in the river. I would probably vote oppose, but I see no reason to pile on.
Thatcher: Thatcher is one of the most lawful neutral users I've ever observed, always seeking fairness and remarkably dispassionate. I find that desirable in an oversighter.
