Hee-Kap Ahn is a Korean computer scientist, the Mueunjae Endowed Chair Professor of the department of Computer Science and Engineering at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology). He is a co-editor-in-chief of Computational Geometry. He is known for his research in computational geometry, in particular for his work on casting and Voronoi diagrams.

Biography[edit]

Ahn completed his doctorate from the Utrecht University in 2001 under the supervision of Mark Overmars and Otfried Cheong. He joined POSTECH in 2007, after previously holding positions at Sejong University, KAIST, and KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology). Cheong was co-chair of the International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation in 2014 (with Chan-Su Shin) and 2021 (with Kunihiko Sadakane). In 2019, he was recognized by POSTECH as a Mueunjae Endowed Chair Professor.
