Panoply Technologies Inc is a cloud-based data-warehousing startup founded by Yaniv Leven and Roi Avinoam in 2015 with offices in Tel Aviv and San Francisco. The company claims to have built the world’s first smart data warehouse which incorporates proprietary algorithms and machine learning technology into common data management practices.  

History

Panoply was founded mid 2015 in Tel Aviv, [Panoply Raises $1.3M] [Panoply raises Israel by Yaniv Leven and Roi Avinoam. Prior to founding Panoply Technologies Inc. Yaniv and Roi worked as COO and CTO of Mytopia [888 acquires Mytopia] and Bwin’s Win Studio. Panoply went into closed beta in early 2017 and announced General availability in Q3 2017 [GA Announcement, Dataversity]. That same year Panoply announced the appointment of former New Relic and Sauce Labs Executive Michael Canon as VP Sales and former Atlassian and Algolia Executive Paul Friesen as VP Marketing [http://www.devopsdigest.com/panoply-funding-climbs-to-13-million] . As of January 2018, Panoply Technologies has raised $13 million in funding, including $7 million led by Intel Capital.

Panoply Smart Data Warehouse

Panoply Technologies Inc sells a cloud-based data warehouse called Panoply Smart Data Warehouse that has a layer of proprietary algorithms and machine learning algorithms incorporated into the architecture that enable it to learn and self optimize for performance and cost. [Smart Data Warehouse overview] The data is stored in a multi layer storage stack comprised primarily of AWS Redshift and AWS S3 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_S3).[2] It has became generally available in October 2017 and had 100 organizations using it at that time.

Automated Cloud Data Stack (ACDS)

On October 2017, Panoply, Stitch and Chartio announced the availability of the world’s first Automatic Cloud Data Stack [ACDS]. The companies claimed that the combined offering enables data analysts and business users to connect to disparate cloud applications and databases and gain business insight by visualizing their data. The stack includes a self-optimizing petabyte-scale data warehouse, a self-serve ETL pipeline, and a modern business intelligence [BI] platform with pre-built business dashboards, all accessible in an integrated environment for an optimal customer experience.

In early 2018 Panoply released its official Partner program announcing major partnerships with Notable ETL and Business Intelligence companies to help facilitate the streamlining of the analytical data life cycle.

On October 2016 Panoply announced a new partnership [Panoply and Atom] with Ironsource’s Atom data flow management to allow customers of both companies to benefit from data integration and management via one dashboard and in near real-time.

On November 2016 Panoply announced a technical integration partnership with Stitch Data [Panoply and Stitch] to allow customers using Stitch’s ETL Service one-click access to a managed Redshift instance for both new and existing customers. On October 2017 Panoply announced alongside Stitch and Chart.io to extended offering of the world’s first automated cloud data stack [Panoply Stitch and Chart.io]. On February 2018 Panoply announced it had partnered with Tableau software. This announcement was followed by a customer story detailing the utilization of Panoply and Tableau by Kimberly Clark and a summary white paper of a 6 month POC run by Tableau over Panoply detailing the ROI findings [built for speed].

Panoply was a finalist in Ernest and Young’s “The Pitch” competition in 2015 and a Red Herring Top 100 Finalist for 2017. In 2018, G2 Crowd named Panoply as the highest rated data software product based on user satisfaction.
