Pioneer Bank is a community bank headquartered in Roswell, New Mexico. Established in 1901, it has grown to serve multiple communities across southern New Mexico, offering a range of personal and business banking services.
History

Pioneer Bank is a local Community Bank in southern New Mexico and was founded on February 18, 1901, as the Roswell Building & Loan Association, aiming to provide capital for home construction in Roswell, New Mexico. The initial stockholders' meeting occurred on December 27, 1900, with the charter and by-laws approved on April 5, 1901. The first president was D.S. Rosenwald, and early directors included W.T. Jones, J.M. Hervey, and L.K. McGaffey.[1]
Throughout the 20th century, the institution underwent several name changes to reflect its evolving services:
- 1967: Renamed to Roswell Savings & Loan Association.
- 1975: Became Pioneer Savings and Trust after merging with Equitable Building & Loan Association.
- 1994: Changed to Pioneer Savings Bank.
- 2000: Adopted the current name, Pioneer Bank.[2]
By the end of 2024, Pioneer Bank's assets totaled approximately $982 million.[3]
