Conflict Of Interest: I am a member of India Research Watch. I created that article with a COI disclosure on the talk page before I became involved with the organisation. It has since been reviewed independently by other editors. I am also affiliated with City College of New York.

I grew up between the hills of Northeast India and the diaspora, and I now live in Queens. My wife is a first-generation American whose parents came from Myanmar and South Korea. Between us we carry at least four ethnic groups, several languages, and strong feelings about rice.
I did my Bachelor's in Engineering physics, then took what my parents still call "the detour" which was a Master's in Finance. I am currently completing a PhD in Applied Physics alongside a Master's in Nanoscience. Before all of that I was an NCC cadet, Lance Corporal. Also a published academic author. Affiliated with City College of New York; alumni of Wharton @Penn and IIT Delhi.
I believe Rahul Gandhi is what India needs right now. Not because he is perfect. He has walked into the parts of India that most politicians fly over: sat with farmers, workers, and tribal communities, and actually listened without performing. I think he is building something real that is a politics rooted in constitutional values and the idea that India belongs to all of its people, not just the majority. I still believe the Indian National Congress has a real role to play in Indian democracy, and he is a big part of why. जय हिन्द!
