Serbs are a majority in their homeland, The Republic of Serbia, and a minority (In B&H, In Croatia, In Montenegro, In Vukovar, In Vojvodina and In Romania) in foreign nations.

Some communities of Serbs have made their own states, for example The Republic of Serbs in East and North of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nations in the Balkans were often at War with themselves either of just pure Imperialism, posed by The Second Bulgarian Empire, or minorities. Some also fought for certain religions, like The Ottomans against The Byzantine Empire or The Kingdom of Albania.

The so-called Republika Srpska once clashed on the Croatian Border in a small fight against The Croatian Herzeg-Bosnian Soldiers. They were assumed of being Croat nationalists, and luckily a Croat-Serb war never broke out after the Incident.

As mentioned, the Serb community is mostly from Serbia, however they mix with other languages and cultures.
