Jim Segrave

Jim Segrave is an American entrepreneur, aviator, and business executive. He is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of flyExclusive, one of the largest private jet operators in North America. With more than 11,000 hours of flight time, Segrave holds an Airline Transport Pilot License, multiple jet type ratings, and a commercial helicopter license. His ventures have significantly contributed to the growth of the aviation industry and economic development in Eastern North Carolina.

Early Life and Education

Segrave developed a passion for aviation early in life and earned his pilot's license at the age of 19. He studied business at East Carolina University, where he now serves on the Board of Trustees. Segrave Aviation

In 1994, Segrave founded Segrave Aviation, a charter aviation company that also provided aircraft maintenance services and managed airport fueling stations. By 2009, the company operated a fleet of over 50 aircraft. The following year, it was acquired by Delta Air Lines and became Delta Private Jets, the private aviation division of Delta Air Lines. flyExclusive

In 2015, Segrave founded flyExclusive, a vertically integrated FAA-certificated air carrier based in Kinston, North Carolina. The company offers on-demand charter services, Jet Club memberships, and fractional aircraft ownership. As of 2024, flyExclusive operates a fleet of approximately 100 jets, primarily Cessna Citations, making it one of the largest operators of Citation aircraft in the world. Going Public

On December 28, 2023, flyExclusive went public via a merger with EG Acquisition Corp. The company now trades on the NYSE American under the ticker symbol FLYX. Community Involvement and Recognition

Through his holding company, LGM Ventures, Segrave owns and operates a variety of businesses in Eastern North Carolina, including fixed-base operations (FBOs), a daycare center, and a restaurant. (flyExclusive Investor Relations) He also serves as an observer of the Board of Directors for Quality Equipment, a large John Deere dealership network, and as Vice Chairman of the Board for L. Harvey & Son, one of North Carolina's oldest privately held companies.

Segrave has received numerous honors, including the Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen Award

Personal Life

Jim Segrave is married and has four children. His family resides in North Carolina, where he remains active in both civic and business communities. While largely private about his personal life, Segrave has credited his family’s support as a key part of his entrepreneurial success.
