For example, the first paragraph ends with a sentence claiming that "the term is also frequently used to describe a location for the same purpose that is open to people of all genders at risk" but it is unclear where this information came from. The same goes for the last two sentences of the lead section "They are supported with government resources as well as non-profit funds. (missing citation) Additionally, many philanthropists also help and support these institutions. (missing citation)" Since the article is rated as Start-class, it'll be needing a lot of help(!)
