History
[edit]Originally founded in 1996 by Éric Chouinard and Martin Leclair under the name Formation et Technologies Formatek, it was not until 1998 that they decided to focus on Web Hosting and Server Management, following many mergers and partnerships. It is at that time that the headquarters were based in Montreal and the name change to iWeb.
By the end of 2003, the iWeb Group Inc. has signed an agreement allowing its entrance at the TSX Venture Exchange. By the same occasion, they acquired a 10,000 square feet (930 m2) building, where they moved their offices. In 2006, after the purchase of iNet-Interactif/Funio hosting division, they announced the acquisition of a second 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) datacenter, in the Saint Leonard borough. In 2007, iWeb announced the opening of a third datacenter on Nuns' Island[3], where they are now headquartered.
