History
[edit]EVP International was founded in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2004. It introduced its first e-commerce platform, Webtopay, in 2008 to expand its services internationally. The platform offered various ways to accept payments all over the world, from premium SMS to In-App payments. On September 27, 2012, EVP International was officially granted a full electronic money institution licence. It was the first electronic money licence in Lithuania. That was the start of vast expansion of the company's financial services. Various partners from different countries were integrated into Webtopay system. Among them were payment systems CashU, Webmoney, Payza and numerous banks all over the world. Gaming platforms and gaming payment gateways, such as Travian Games and Xsolla, also contributed to the expansion of system's business. In the beginning of 2013 Webtopay was renamed to Paysera to reflect the increased functions and capabilities of the system. During one year after being granted the electronic money licence, Paysera saw the number of its users growing exponentially. In late 2012 Paysera (Webtopay) had about 20,000 users, and in the end of 2013 there were already 100,000 people registered in the system. Paysera started to offer services of many international payment systems and expanded its business area to the Americas via SafetyPay, and Eastern Europe via EasyPay.
