Beaulieu River, NT

The Beaulieu River, in the Northwest Territories, flows into Great Slave Lake from the north. It is an old trading and migration route for aboriginal peoples, and is today an occasionally used canoe route.

Canoeing the Beaulieu

Canoers often fly in to Spencer Lake, and complete a 10-14 day trip. The trip ends either at Great Slave Lake or at Reid Lake on the Ingraham Trail, a 60 km drive from Yellowknife.
