Omokhudu Idogho is a Nigerian public health expert and the Managing Director of the Society for Family Health (SFH), a leading non-governmental organisation in Africa. He was appointed to this position on 1 January 2019.[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Dr. Idogho earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Benin in 1995. He went on to receive a Master's in Public Administration (MPA), with a focus on public policy, from the University of Ilorin in 2006, and later completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of South Africa in 2010.
Career
[edit]Dr. Idogho has led national health programs in multiple domains including reproductive, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, non-communicable diseases, and health financing. With experience in both government and multi-donor agencies, he has designed and managed community-level and institutional development projects.
He began serving as Managing Director of SFH on 1 January 2019, succeeding Bright Ekweremadu.[2] In 2024, he called for improved strategies around family planning uptake in Nigeria.[3]
