Thing(s) I'm possibly not yet clear on:
Thing(s) that are out of date:
- "Present" is used at least once to refer to 2007.
Thing(s) I'm not sure I've considered:
- What if the comic where T-Rex travels back to when he was 20 (April 22nd 2005's comic) actually begins in a flash-forward, and the time that he travels back to is the time immediately after comic #525?
- I guess then you run into the problem of five years somehow passing between 2005/04/22 and 2006/05/26. Was that in .202's timeline? I don't even remember anymore.
- Did T-Rex's marriage to the love of his life end after less than eight months due to a sucky prank?

"No jumps" dual-timeline variation
[edit]This version assumes that neither the moon comic nor the sleep comic represents a jump forward in time. It also makes no assumptions about in what year T-Rex was 20, and instead represents this unknown year as "0 YTM" ("Year of T-Rex's Marriage"), with the only known fact being that the marriage began before or in 0 YBDST (since otherwise the flashback in [8] would be before T-Rex's birth). (Note that it's equally unknown how much of Dinosaur Comics's history was overwritten by the time-travel event, and how much remains canonical.)
If you arbitrarily assume that the April 21st 2005 and April 23rd 2005 comics take place in the same calendar year (to keep the calendar approximately lined up with the real world and to keep T-Rex's age approximately equal to Ryan's), you end up with 0 YTM = -2 YBDST.

No jumps, no time travel
[edit]This version assumes that the time-travel scene in April 22nd 2005's comic was a flash-forward to after the end of Dinosaur Comics. This avoids the contradiction between April 22nd 2005 and July 26th 2005, but may eventually result in creepy age-difference issues in T-Rex's future/past marriage, depending on how long Dinosaur Comics lasts.
This interpretation also affects the tone of the comic considerably, as T-Rex's interactions with his friends and neighbors are contrasted with the knowledge that he will apparently eventually abandon them all for their own past selves.
