Stitch is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based cloud ETL provider founded in 2016.[1]

Technology

[edit]

Stitch develops and markets an ETL software platform that allows businesses to explore and analyze the vast quantities of data in their datastores. Stitch connects to more than 70 SaaS and database data sources, and five data warehouse platforms.

Stitch is powered by Singer[2], an open source standard for writing scripts that move data, which is based on JSON Schema.

Awards and Recognition

[edit]

In January 2017, Philadelphia Magazine named Stitch one of 10 Philly startups to watch in 2017.[3] In February 2017, DZone (Big Data Zone) named Stitch as one of only three cloud ETL tools in its list of 11 Great ETL Tools[4]. In January 2018, Stitch was named one of Philly's top 20 startups by Technical.ly Philly.[5]

Funding

[edit]

Stitch is the offspring of a company called RJMetrics, which was a bootstrapped company[6] until it received its first round of funding in 2012. The seed round was $1.2 million and came from Red Swan Ventures, Vision Ventures, SoftTech VC, Zelkova Ventures, Lerer Ventures, and SV Angel.[7] In May 2013, the company received its Series A funding of $6.25 million from Trinity Ventures and SoftTech VC.[8]

In September 2014, RJMetrics received its Series B funding of $16.5 million from SoftTech VC, Trinity Ventures, and August Capital.[9] To date, the Series B funding is one of the biggest rounds of funding received by a Philadelphia-based IT startup.[10]

In August 2016, Magento acquired RJMetrics, and Stitch was spun out as an independent company, with the same investors and funding RJMetrics originally acquired.
