Place I Belong
[edit]I am belonging from a small but culturally rich city of Darbhanga in Bihar state of India. Darbhanga was the State capital of the then Mithila Kingdom till British-India. Residents of this geographical zone are called as Maithil and this geographical zone is called Mithilanchal. Mithila is known for its own philosophical folk-painting style Mithila Painting or Madhubani Painting, it’s Language Maithili. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Sita was the princess of this land and later married with God Sri Ramchandra.
What I Do?
[edit]I am a Crafts Product Designer by profession. Rather than a profession, Craft Design is my passion. I fairly believe that learning and exploring is a never ending process...so, everyday sunrise gives me a cup of fresh thinking and every sunset gives a basket of sweet fruits with new tests! This is my own defined way to enjoy this Real World University!
Mostly am working in south-east Asian countries at grass-root level to upgrade traditional handicrafts and contribute to upgrade the livelihoods of highly skilled but poor artisan communities. I am also a handicraft trainer. I love working with dusty but glowing happy faces!
What I Studied?
[edit]After receiving Post Graduate qualification in Crafts Product Design (Hard Goods) from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur in 2004 Batch, earned MBA qualification from the University of Pondicherry and MA in Economics from the University of Annamalai and then join Design Profession to explore my academic learning.
Now a day doing a PhD program of Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar in Design.
