The company partners with major third-party grading services, Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). It is also an active member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), the Florida United Numismatists (FUN), the Certified Coin Exchange (CCE), and the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA).

Services

[edit]

In addition to buying and selling precious metals, Gainesville Coins also offers secure storage for its clients. The Gainesville Coins vault uses segregated storage, meaning that individual depositors' metals are kept separate from one another rather than pooled together. The company's vault also functions as an official depository for the purposes of individual retirement accounts (IRAs) that include precious metals. (These are known as self-directed IRAs.)

History

[edit]

Gainesville Coins, LLC was founded in 2006. It was one of the early entrants into the online precious metals distribution business and began expanding into international sales shortly thereafter. Since opening for business, the company has been active in buying and selling modern bullion coins, which are legal tender coins that are made from precious metals for investment (rather than collectible or commercial) purposes. Gainesville Coins also specializes in classic (pre-1933) gold coins from the United States, Europe, and elsewhere around the world.

Exclusive Products

[edit]

Gainesville Coins introduced the first officially licensed Guy Harvey© 1 oz silver rounds [2][3] and 10 oz silver bars featuring Guy Harvey's rendition of "The Old Man and The Sea - Santiago Finest hour". These products bear the original artwork of the famous artist, angler, marine biologist, and conservationist Guy Harvey.

Gainesville Coins is the exclusive distributor of Trident Silver, a brand of silver bullion products that includes bars and rounds of various sizes.

In partnership with world-famous Swiss refiner PAMP Suisse, GC exclusively distributes the PAMP Suisse Atlas 1 oz gold bar.

Gainesville Coins is the sole distributor of the Perth Mint’s Odin 2 oz Silver Double-Sided Ultra High Relief coin, the first coin issued in the Norse Gods Series.

Through the Helvetic Mint (located in Switzerland), GC is the exclusive distributor of the Four Aces silver 4-coin set of rectangular legal tender coins.

In addition to being the only distributor of The Hunter 1 oz silver round, Gainesville Coins has also exclusively distributed a number of Lunar Calendar and Christian-themed silver rounds that were designed by in-house artists.

Community Involvement

[edit]

Gainesville Coins participates in food drives with Feeding America Tampa Bay[4] (formerly America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay) and in the past has sponsored the Hernando Soccer Club. In 2008, the company worked with the Garcia Pass It On Foundation run by former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia and his wife Carmella to benefit various charities through the joint “Collect For a Cause” program.
