Operation Sindoor Targets
[edit]Operation Sindoor was a military operation launched by the Indian Armed Forces in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, where 26 civilians (25 Indians and one Nepali citizen) were killed.[1]
The target of Operation Sindoor was the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK) from where these attacks were planned and directed. India aimed to neutralize the operational capabilities of the groups responsible for cross-border terrorism.[2]
Specifically, the Indian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes on nine identified sites. These sites were linked to anti-India terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The targeted locations, as reported by various sources, included:

In Pakistan:
- Markaz Taiba, Muridke (Lahore): Headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba. [3] [4]
- Masjid Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur: Headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed.[5] [6]
- Sarjal camp, Sialkot.
- Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot. [7]
In Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK):
- Sawai/Shawai Nala, Muzaffarabad: LeT training center. [8]
- Syedna Bilal/Hazrat Bilal Masjid, Muzaffarabad: JeM staging area and training.
- Training camp in Gulpur, Kotli.[9]
- Masjid Ahl-e-Hadis, Barnala, Bhimber.
- Masjid Abbas, Kotli.
The operation was described by the Indian government as a focused, measured, and non-escalatory response, with a deliberate avoidance of targeting Pakistani military installations to minimize the risk of escalation. The primary objective was to dismantle the terror infrastructure and hold those responsible for the Pahalgam attack accountable.[10]
