Cybernetics: Or the Control and Communication in the Animal and the Machine was written by Norbert Weiner and published in 1948. It was the first place where the term "cybernetics was coined, an the book laid the theoretical foundation for servo systems (whether electrical, mechanical or hydraylic), automatic navigation, analog computing, and reliable communications.
A second addition with minor changes and two additional chapters was published in 1961.
