Hello, our names are Dianne, Raquel, and Kourtnee, and we are students attending the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). As part of the requirements for our Sociology of Gender & Sexuality course, we conducted our own research by means of a survey and gathered existing research on the topic of interracial relationships. Through this project, we hope to make the public more aware about the history of, stigma surrounding, and the current perceptions of interracial relationships. Our survey asked 83 students enrolled in four sociology courses at UCCS their perceptions of how the general public views interracial relationships. We measured 3 things: How accepting are other people of interracial relationships? What do other people see as the most uncommon interracial relationship? and What do other people view as the ideal interracial relationship?
