Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

(Briefly explain why you chose it, why it matters, and what your preliminary impression of it was.) I chose this article because it is filled with information and has been updated more recently than others. Even though it was updated it still received a C rating so that means the article has not fixed the core issues.

The article does go into a lot of detail about coral bleaching and the effects that it has on the environment along with the causes of it. The information itself is clear, but it does feel like a lot of facts and figures are being thrown at the reader all at once. For example, in the monitoring coral bleaching and reef surface temperature, it talked about Degree Heating Week, a lot of different dates of El Nino and bleaching events without giving any thought if the readers know what those individual things are. I would also say that the economic value of coral reefs and the cost benefit analysis section of the article could have been one section instead of two since they both talk about the value of the coral reefs.
