Final Drive: Nitro is a 2004 single-player racing game originally released for the PC by WildTangent. Final Drive: Nitro was released for the PC on September 29, 2004. There was one other game in the series, Final Drive: Fury.

Gameplay

[edit]

Final Drive: Nitro is a racing game. You can use a keyboard and mouse to play as well as a gamepad/controller. You can customize the configurations to put the controls on any key or button you would like. The game features Nitro, which can be used to speed up your car. You can drift using the "Powerslide". You can use 7 cars, in 3 different classes.

Levels

[edit]

There are a total of three individual maps, but these are used multiple times in the game, forward and backwards. There are 48 different races in the game, which are split up into 4 categories. These categories are Class C, Class B, Class A, and Mixed Class. These can only be accessed with certain cars, while Mixed Class can be accessed with every car.

Cars

[edit]

When the user gains enough money, they are able to buy more cars or upgrades to cars owned. The cars you can buy include: Class C: "Honda Civic Si", "Beckham Predator". Class B: "Mobius Bordeaux", "Eastwood 4000". Class A: "Sualka Respekt", "Schrecken 29", "Diagoro SKI". You are able to upgrade the paint, decal, neon, spoiler, body, aims, exhaust tip, top speed, turbo, acceleration, handling, braking, and nitrous on all cars.

AI

[edit]

The AI in the game seems to have names with random words in them. In regular races and certain time trials, the bots just try to go as fast as possible to win. In "Chicken" races, you try to finish a lap while the AI tries to hit you while you are racing.

Mods

[edit]

The game is relatively easy to modify, as you can just change the conditions of the race

Development

[edit]

The game was developed and published by WildTangent Studios.

Final Drive: Nitro offers no multiplayer elements.

Music

[edit]

The score uses a mixture of Rock and Electronic music.
