Edwin Henry Booth
[edit]E H Booth was born in Bury, East Lancashire in 1828 and died 1899.[1]
His father was a doctor who had a large practice in Bury.[1] Sadly, Edwins father died when he was young and so his mother married again. [1] His stepfather was a violent man, who abused Edwin and so he left home when he was only 10 years of age.
As a young boy he tried very hard to seek employment. At the age of 11 he managed to get a job as an errand boy, in Bolton. But the hours were long as he often did not finish work until near midnight. [1]
