Goldsmith Defense introduction

[edit]

1...h5

[edit]

The Goldsmith Defense is an unorthodox defense that weakens the kingside and is considered worse than the cornstalk defense it develops the rook and attacks g4 but allows white to play d4 although this move is not the best. It should not be underestimated because it is a waiting move and if white castles kingside we can attack with h4-h3.

Picklepuss Defense

[edit]

2.d4 2...Nf6

[edit]

A offshoot try to the opening phase. Although it looks funny at first, it can transpose to Alekhine’s Defence like lines just with h5 added into it.
