Which article are you evaluating?
[edit]Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?
[edit]Citizen Media is very important in this day and age and I chose this article because I was shocked at how short this article is. I would love to be able to add more to this article in order to make it less outdated and have more information.
Evaluate the article
[edit]While reading this article the first thing that I noticed was that one section in particular was not very relevant. The radio section did not make much of a connection to citizen media and was mainly an extremely brief history of radio. This was distracting from the overall point of article which is to inform about citizen media. Another thing I noticed about this article is that is very biased towards the viewpoint that citizen media is harmful as it goes uncensored and can spread massively. There is little to no mention of any positive affects that citizen media can have. Wikipedia articles should be nonbiased so this needs to be changed.
The article also has some problems with citations. Many of the facts in the article that need to have citations do not and some of the citation links do not work. The facts that are cited with working links come from trusted neutral sources and can be kept. The article is also fairly outdated as there is no mention of social media such as twitter or Instagram which are vital elements of citizen media in the present day. The talk section of this article has not been active since 2018 and has had discussions about modernizing the article, but nothing has come from it. I added to the talk page (Talk:Citizen media#Suggestions for Updates 2) and discussed some changed that I want to make to the article in the future.
