List of Kinnikuman characters

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

I'm a longtime fanboy of this manga/anime series. Watched a fansub of the first few episodes on YouTube one day in 2012 and was instantly hooked. Read the manga when the fansubs ended. I've been working on fansubbed versions of the anime since around 2020 or so with Saiko no Fansub, polishing their subs so that they sound natural in English and catching any mistakes in translation and grammar.

  • There are inconsistencies with the terminology used. "Choujin" is more commonly used within the pages such as List of Kinnikuman characters, but "Chojin" is also used. Most fansubs (both our subs and Hokuto no Gun's subtitles) and the FANDOM Kinnikuman wiki exclusively spell this term as "Chojin", as the mangaka, Yudetamago consistently spells the word with no "u". (It's still better than Toriyama's World, the first major scanlator of the Kinnikuman manga, who used "Chyo-jin".) In addition, Seigi Chojin and Justice Chojin are used interchangeably and the plural for Chojin is canonically "Chojin", with no S.
  • The recasted voice actors of the cast in the Perfect Origin Arc TV anime are missing.
  • The sections on the Ultimate Chojin and Goku'aku Chojin (Heinous Chojin in our fansubs) is lacking in detail. This makes sense, as no one in the English speaking fandom knew anything about the details of the plots, since they were filler arcs not in the original manga, until recently when we fansubbed those two arcs.
  • In addition, there is no information on the cast's exploits during the Ultimate Tag Tournament Arc of Nisei.
  • The Choshin and Time Chojin section is blank likely because that arc hasn't been fan translated into English yet.
  • Jack Chi's name is translated as "Jack Faucet". The character's name "Jak Chi" is a pun based on the Japanese word for 'faucet' "jaguchi" and should be spelled as Jack Chi to preserve the pun.
  • The Manriki's name is translated as "The Vice". Most fan translations leave his name as "The Manriki".
