Description

The primary objective of this task is to fix date formats per the documentation for the following templates:

• {{Infobox film}} - apply the correct formatting of {{Film date}} to the |released= parameter.

This bot task was put together by using existing date formatting regular expressions from ButlerBlogBot Task 2 and modifying for {{Film date}}. Depending on the status of the maintenance category after a complete run through, it may be modified for additional |released= values, depending upon what is left.

• NOTE: |released= is expected to be a single date, or a set of dates for an individual film. The infobox is not intended to be used on film franchises to display a date range. This is a misuse of the infobox. This bot removes date ranges from franchises as this is a misuse of the parameter. Additionally, this task also merges multiple instances of {{Film date}}. For example:

• Converting this: {{Film date|2001|1|28|location1}} {{Film date|2002|2|28|location2}}

• To this: {{Film date|2001|1|28|location1|2002|2|28|location2}}
