Heritage Music Group (HMG) is an American Record Label distributed through Universal Music Group Distribution and Publishing Company owned by Jovan Dawkins of the Co-Captains. It was founded and self funded by Dawkins in 2010. At the time, the goal for Heritage Music Group was to create the resources for songwriters, musicians and producers needed to monetize their music across all digital platforms.

At the end of 2017, Jovan Dawkins at age 29 would purchase a music catalogue containing 700 hit records. Among those artists would consist of Tyrese “How Ya Gonna Act Like That,”” Justin Timberlake – “Suit and Tie”, and Chris Brown – “Take you down.” Other artist in the catalogue would include Beyonce, Drake, and Kelly Clarkson. Heritage Music Group would achieve notable success in 2018 which would lead to the win of 5 Grammy Awards. Among those awards would be R&B Album of The Year (Bruno Mars "24K Magic"); Song of The Year (Bruno Mars "That's What I Like"); Best R&B Song of The Year (Bruno Mars "That's What I Like). Artists who have signed to Heritage Music Group include Fred Hammond, Kurupt, Shanice. Dawkins would be one third of the production team – The Co-Captains, which is comprised of Dawkins, Jevon Hill and Stanley Green, Jr. They have worked on various projects for Tank, Travis Barker; Mario; the latest single for Ciara featuring Nicki Minaj.
