Inclusionism

[edit]

Inclusionism on Wikipedia refers to the Wikipedian Idelogy that editors should not follow rules so strictly that no edits/no pages are created for a topic/category, the opposite of this Idelogy is Deletionism.

Why Am I an inclusionist you ask? Well here's some of my key points.

  • Promotes a unfair and unjust community on the platform, making it harder for valid sources to pass through due to lack of people who are knowledgeable on the topic being discussed, but don't necessarily know how to format it on Wikipedia, and instead of fixing it, users delete the section/article entirely.
  • Some articles will not be perfect, therefore their is no point in going through with a NFD discussion or even worse, Speedy Deletion. When you could literally fix the text
  • Makes editing environment hostile for new users, making it harder for newer editors to join the platform, therefore discouraging use of the website.

Building

[edit]

Wikipedia has like 2000 guidelines to building articles. A common mistake made by new Wikipedians is notablity and/or conflict of interest article creation. I'd recommend reading Wikipedians guidelines to creating article before you create said article to see if your topic fits said guildlines. Happy writing!
