Avengers, based on the comic books of the same name created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is an American superhero film series that is part of the much larger Marvel Cinematic Universe and is produced by Marvel Studios. It consists of four films beginning with The Avengers in 2012 and culminating with Avengers: Endgame in 2019. All of the films are produced by Kevin Feige and feature an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Steve Rogers / Captain America, Bruce Banner / Hulk, Thor, Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, and Clint Barton / Hawkeye respectively. The first two films were written and directed by Joss Whedon and the next two films were written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
All four films are among the 11 highest-grossing films of all time with Avengers: Endgame currently the highest-grossing film of all time with a total worldwide gross of $2,797,800,564. It is the fourth highest-grossing film series of all time grossing over $7.7 billion.

The Avengers (2012)

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
[edit]When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
