Agnes Obel

[edit]Agnes Obel is a singer-song writer originally from Copenhagen and now living in Berlin. She broke onto the scene with the track “Just so” chosen for the 2009 T–Mobile/ T-campaign which she wrote on her own in her bedroom. Agnes Obel (real name Agnes Caroline Thaarup Obel) is releasing her first album, “Philarmonics” PIAS recordings next September. She has already released an EP “Riverside”, on which we find covers of John Cale “Close Watch” and also “Sons & Daughters”. This Scandinavian siren has not arrived out of nowhere. She started playing piano at a very young age and went on to study at the University of Roskilde. She began her career as a musician in “The Copenhagen” with the Danish producer and musician Elthon Theander” with whom she would play for several years before beginning her solo career.
