ORTEC is a software company specializing in advanced planning and scheduling software.[1] Quintiq was founded in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, in September 1997[2] by former Bolesian employees[3] , including Dr. Victor Allis.[4] Victor Allis remains the CEO of Quintiq, working alongside COO Arjen Heeres and CFO Michael Coluzzi. Quintiq is a privately held company[1], which recently sold a 48-percent stake[5] to two Philadelphia-based investment firms[6].

[edit]The company has its European headquarters in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, and its North American headquarters in Radnor, Pennsylvania. Quintiq also has offices in Rome, Italy; Vantaa, Finland; Mannheim, Germany; London, United Kingdom; Petaling Jaya, Malaysia; Melbourne, Australia; and Shanghai, China.[7] Quintiq employs approximately 350 people worldwide.[8] In 2010, Quintiq announced its plans to invest RM100,000,000 in its global development center in Malaysia, in addition to the RM50,000,000 already invested.[9]

[edit]Quintiq develops and implements advanced planning and scheduling software; the Quintiq software is currently in use in 74 countries.[10] Quintiq's customers include:
- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines uses Quintiq software to plan the transitions, vacations and training of more than 2100 commercial pilots.[11]
- DHL uses Quintiq software to manage its dispatch & delivery processes.[12]
- P&O Ferrymasters uses Quintiq software to manage its freight-forwarding operations, which represent 60% of its transport activities. [13]
- The United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) uses Quintiq software to manage the scheduling of air traffic control employees. The nine-and-a-half-year contract has an estimated value of $17.6 million dollars.[14]
- Aluminum roller and recycler Novelis uses Quintiq software to plan production in its manufacturing centers.[15]
- Wal-Mart invested in Quintiq supply-chain planning software in early 2012, to manage the dispatch of its trucks and drivers.[16]
