Avudaiappan is an Indian journalist, television anchor, and political interviewer. He is best known as the host of the debate show Tamizha Tamizha on Zee Tamil. Beginning his career as a video editor, he rose to prominence for his political interviews and is recognized for his voice representing the common man.
Early life and education
[edit]Avudaiappan was born and raised in Ambasamudram, a town in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. He comes from a middle-class family; his father worked for Madura Coats. He pursued a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication at St. Xavier's College of Arts and Science, Tirunelveli.
Career
[edit]Avudaiappan began his media journey at Behindwoods.com as a video editor. Initially working behind the scenes, he transitioned to an on-screen role when a planned political interviewer dropped out. This opportunity marked the beginning of his rise as a political interviewer, conducting in-depth interviews with over 500 personalities across politics, cinema, and business.
He later joined Vikatan, contributing to both video and text-based journalism, further refining his presence in Tamil media.
Television Work
[edit]In 2023, Avudaiappan was announced as the host for Season 3 of Tamizha Tamizha, a socio-political talk show on Zee Tamil. His selection was highlighted for bringing an authentic, grassroots perspective to the show, aligning with the channel's intention to elevate voices from common backgrounds.
The show's reboot with Avudaiappan as host received attention for reflecting public sentiments and addressing local issues. He also hosted international editions of the show in Singapore, covering diaspora-centric topics.
