Argastes II was a Chaldean king.[1]
In 1899, Drs Waldemar Belck and Lehmann excavated his palace, Toprakkale, near Lake Van. They uncovered the wine cellar and inscriptions on the drains containing a partial king-list,[2] back to the time of Tiglat Phalassar (8th century BCE).[3]
