Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

(Briefly explain why you chose it, why it matters, and what your preliminary impression of it was.)

I chose this article to evaluate primarily because I feel like most of us are firsthand learners meaning we learn from direct experience and I think this is extremely prevalent in grade school and very beneficial to kids entering adolescence because it's easier to understand something when we can see it for ourselves.

This article essentially talks about how firsthand learning makes use of out innate curiosity it makes us more actively engaged and desire to investigate real phenomena, because when you give people the opportunity to to learn for themselves not only does it make them have to think more but connects them to the world and introduces engagement with the environment. The article is fairly short I feel like they could use some more evidence to back up their claim even though firsthand learning may seem straightforward and beneficial there are drawbacks especially with people who prefer to be shown visuals opposed to doing it on their own. I would say the article is pretty underdeveloped but it does reference some good ideas about firsthand learning.
