Biography

Tahere was born in Tehran; however, her parents are originally from Khorasan Province. After finishing high school, she was accepted into a singing course, where she had been taught by Parisa, who is one of the most well known Persian classical music female singers. Tahere refined her skills for over ten years in Iran under the technical direction of the esteemed master Parisa. While she was studying Mahmoud Karimi's radif, she began learning the Setar.

Tahere moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2001, and since then, she balances her time between teaching the traditional singing techniques to her students and performing with various local ensembles.

Album

Tahere released her first album in August, 2013. The album is composed by renown Kamancheh player master, Saeed Farajpouri. The album is called, "A Moment with you" (in Persian" دمی با دوست") and is in Dastgah Homayoun (in Persian دستگاه همایون.[1]

  • March 2012 - at the CBC studio along with Hossein Behroozinia and Kereshmeh ensemble
  • January 2014 - at the Kay Meek Centre along with Saeed Farajpouri and Hamnavazan ensemble
  • March 2015 - at the CBC studio along with Saeed Farajpouri, Ali Sajadi , and Hamin Honari
  • November 2015 - at the Capilano University along with Saeed Farajpouri, Alborz Rahmani, and Hamin Honari
  • July 2016 - at the Royal Alberta Museum Edmonton along with Saeed Farajpouri, Alborz Rahmani, and Abtin Ghaffari
