The Global Investment Fund (GIF) is United Kingdom (UK) based non-profit organization that makes grants and invests in products, services, business processes, or policy changes. The fund, with offices in different parts of the world, supports ideas from profit and non-profit groups, researchers, and governments. GIF was launched in 2014 at the United Nations General Assembly as a partnership between the former Department of International Development (DFID), now known as Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Omidyar Network, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade in Australia (DFAT).
